Latest Processing Facility Strike Demonstrates 'No Safe Areas in Russia's Far Hinterland'

Ukraine's drones have struck Russia's Bashneft processing plant in Ufa, positioned some 1,400 kilometres from the Ukrainian border, triggering blasts and a blaze, per a informed individual in the Ukrainian SBU.

This constitutes the third SBU long-range attack in Bashkortostan in the recent weeks. These attacks illustrate that there are no safe places in the far hinterland of the Russian state.

Ukrainian President Urges Trump to Mediate Ceasefire in the Conflict

Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged the US President to mediate a ceasefire in the Ukrainian conflict during a telephone conversation on the weekend.

In the Russian border region of the Belgorod region, a truck driver was fatally wounded by a Ukrainian strike, as stated by regional authorities.

Power Repair Efforts in Kyiv

Efforts continued on Saturday to repair energy infrastructure in the Ukrainian capital, after assaults.

Power had been recovered to over 800,000 inhabitants by Saturday and the major utility provider said the key efforts to restore power was finished though certain disruptions remained.

Air Defence Efforts and Drone Interceptions

The Ukrainian anti-aircraft systems neutralized fifty-four of 78 enemy drones launched targeting Ukraine during the night, the aerial defense command reported on Saturday.

The Russian military authorities stated it shot down 42 Ukrainian drones over the country's airspace.

Cuba Refutes Claims of Providing Troops to Ukraine

Cuba on the weekend refuted American allegations it has provided military personnel to participate in the hostilities, while stating officials in Havana "do not have precise data about individuals" participating "on their own" or "within the troops of the conflicting parties".

The ministry in the capital stated 26 Cuban citizens had been given prison terms to incarceration from five up to fourteen years for participating as mercenaries since September 2023 when information circulated of Cuban nationals being sent to the front in Ukraine.
