Six Individuals Detained Following 12 Million Euro Armed Raid on Gold Processing Laboratory in France

A group of six individuals equipped with high-powered firearms employed explosives to breach the security of a gold treatment facility located in Lyon, France, resulting in minor injuries to five employees during what appears to be the newest significant daylight theft to occur in the nation.

The audacious robbery was carried out on Thursday afternoon, with police forces quickly arresting the individuals believed responsible and recovering the stolen goods estimated to be worth €12 million (£10.5M), officials reported.

Five staff members of the gold refining company received light wounds from the blast, and three individuals required hospital checks for examination, according to regional authorities. Twenty-eight employees were inside the facility when the perpetrators raided.

Those arrested, considered experienced criminals, were detained shortly after the incident in the nearby town of the town of Vénissieux, according to investigative sources.

A female participant who took part in the heist was taken into custody as well, officers confirmed.

“Six individuals who used detonations in an attack on a gold refining facility in Lyon were arrested at the scene,” the French interior minister declared on social media, praising officers for their “quick action, authority and management”.

High-caliber firearms, handguns and detonation devices were also confiscated.

The raid happened as French police on Thursday detained five further people, among them a key figure, in relation to this month's brazen theft at the Louvre.

Many investigative personnel have been searching for four perpetrators who employed a truck equipped with a moving lift and cutting equipment to break into an upper-level exhibition space at the prestigious institution on the nineteenth of October, escaping with jewelry valued at approximately €88 million.
