Springer was instrumental for the Houston Astros claiming the championship in the 2017 season.
Canada's MLB team reached their initial Fall Classic after the 1993 season by beating the Mariners in the final game seven of the American League Championship Series.
Down 3-1, Springer smashed a three-run homer in the seventh, guiding the Toronto squad in the majors to a 4-3 win in the seven-game series. Awaiting them are the Los Angeles Dodgers, holders of the reigning title, in the anticipated World Series.
"I'm just so happy for this squad, Toronto, our country," Springer stated, an integral part of the Houston Astros team that secured the 2017 title. "It's truly an amazing experience."
Springer has now slugged twenty-three post-season home runs, making him third in history trailing only Manny Ramirez (29) and Altuve (27).
"It's hard to imagine anyone else on planet Earth that I'd choose in that moment besides George Springer with his post-season brilliance," noted manager John Schneider.
The Mariners, who had led the series 2-0 and 3-2, remain the one club never to appear in a Fall Classic.
Wilson commented "there's no question that it's going to sting" in the wake of his side's defeat at Rogers Centre, but commended their efforts this season.
"They're an exceptional squad. Sadly that we had to come out on the wrong side of this game," he added.
Toronto's team won the championship on each of their earlier trips in 1992 and '93, and will welcome the Los Angeles in game one on the upcoming Friday.
