The Streaming Giant Selects Perfect Actor for Bentham in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment

Baroque Works is geared up to exert significant influence in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t unfold until season 3, and a cherished, popular member has now been chosen.

The streaming service revealed recently that the skilled actor is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Mr. 2. Bon Clay has the ability to morph into an identical duplicate of anyone they’ve made contact with with their dominant hand. The performer, who is identifies as non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that role reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the source material and anime.

Escola will work alongside several other new cast members tasked with bringing Baroque Works to reality, including chief Mr. 0, played by the well-known actor, an emerging star as Miss Goldenweek, and an accomplished actor, who will appear as the cast as the ruler of Alabasta.

Though this character is a key figure of the organization, the persona won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Considering the next season expected to adapt the Little Garden arc, this signals a significant shift in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate additional alterations to the story’s structure.

Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the character. Besides their current animated role in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and multiple awards for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.

The platform’s adapted One Piece show is set to return for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
