In a severely negative analysis, the military oversight panel stated that the UK is "nowhere near" where it needs to be to adequately defend itself and its partners, especially during a time when security threats to Europe are "considerable".

The investigation found that Britain is falling short of its alliance commitments and falling "far short" of its stated leadership position.

The document was made public as the military department designated potential areas for half a dozen new weapons production facilities, constituting a broader strategy to increase local military manufacturing.

In previous months, the Defense Minister disclosed intentions to move the UK to "combat preparedness", involving significant investment to enable the establishment of new ammunition facilities.

However, after an extended investigation, the defence committee warned that Britain and its European Nato allies remained excessively counting on the US and failed to invest sufficient resources on their independent security.

"The Russian leader's aggressive incursion of the Eastern European country, unrelenting propaganda efforts, and repeated violations into regional air territory mean that we should not permit to ignore reality," commented the panel head.

The panel head noted that the committee had "consistently received worries about the nation's ability to secure itself from attack".

The detailed suggestions featured a request for the leadership to accelerate the pace of industrial change and make "alertness" a primary objective.

The continent's substantial counting on the US in essential domains such as "surveillance, space assets, transportation of troops and air-to-air refuelling" was also received criticism in the document.

It observed that Britain had "next to nothing" when it came to comprehensive air and missile defences, and referenced newly documented UAVs entering territorial skies across the continent as an example of how modern innovations can endanger civilian populations in alongside armed forces assets.

The government revealed earlier this year that British military expenditure would grow to three percent of national income by the target year at the very least.
